King Charles health update: Prince Harry ‘blocked’ from staying with father during visit

Prince Harry was prevented from staying with his cancer-stricken father during his whirlwind 24-hour visit for one shock reason, it has been claimed.

Prince Harry was stopped from joining King Charles at Sandringham during his whirlwind 24-hour visit to the UK because Palace aides feared “they’d never get rid of him”.

The Duke of Sussex was told to get a hotel instead of staying with the cancer-stricken King, The Sun reports.

The King’s youngest son was instructed to visit Clarence House, the monarch’s London residence while Buckingham Palace undergoes renovations, for a short managed face-to-face meeting.

The California-based royal wanted to join the King at the Sandringham estate for a few days but was blocked by Palace aides, The Sun reports.

The surprise visit came after King Charles rang his younger son to reveal his shock cancer diagnosis.

Prince Harry “took it upon himself” to immediately fly to London — without his wife Meghan Markle or their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It was understood Buckingham Palace accepted Prince Harry’s quick visit to Britain as a kind “gesture” and “cause for optimism”.

But the frantic mercy dash did not lead to a major thawing in relations, The Sun reports.

Palace insiders are insisting that Prince Harry will not be allowed the “half in, half out” hybrid royal role he once wanted amid claims he has offered to make a temporary royal return, The Sun reports.

A source told The Sun: “How could this even work? Is Harry really saying he’d fly back from California to attend an investiture?

“The Queen, Prince William, Princess Anne and Edward and Sophie are more than capable of holding the fort.

“And what would it mean for Meghan? Are we seriously thinking she could also have a hybrid role?”

But a source for the Sussexes told The Sun the Duke of Sussex was not seeking a return.

Meanwhile, Canadian singer Michael Buble serenaded Prince Harry at a gala dinner with the a rewritten version of the Frank Sinatra classic My Way at a lavish gala dinner in Vancouver to mark the first Winter Invictus Games in 2025.

The crooner referred to the royal as a “visionary” in his rendition as Meghan Markle tenderly touched her husband’s cheek.

The dinner followed a three-day tour by the Sussexes of Whistler, Squamish, and Vancouver, a year before the first Winter Invictus Games.

The Prince told the 200 dinner guests said the decade since he founded the games had “been a testament to the power of resilience and the unbreakable spirit you all exemplify”.

Earlier Buble and Prince Harry shared a laugh as the Prince had a go at wheelchair curling.

When asked about his reaction to King Charles’ cancer diagnosis by GMA host Will Reeve, the son of the late Superman actor Christopher Reeve, Prince Harry said: “I spoke to him. I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could.

“Look, I love my family,” he continued. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”As for whether King Charles’ diagnosis could have a reunifying effect on the Royal Family, Prince Harry said: “Absolutely. Yeah, I’m sure. Throughout all these families, I see it on a day-to-day basis, the strength of the family unit coming together.

“Any illness, any sickness brings family together.”

When asked about his outlook on the state of his father’s health, he said, “That stays between me and him.”
