Sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell could cut 20-year sentence with Trump pardon
Jeffrey Epstein’s madam Ghislaine Maxwell is plotting an early prison release bid after boasting about her “cushy” new minimum-security facility.
Ghislaine Maxwell is preparing to ask the Trump administration to commute her sex trafficking sentence, House Democrats said, days after Jeffrey Epstein’s madam gushed about how happy she was in her cushy new federal lockup.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee told Donald Trump in a letter on Monday, local time, that the convicted sex trafficker was “undoubtedly coming to you for your direct consideration,” CBS reported.
Maxwell, whose 20-year sentence for helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls isn’t up until 2037, laid out the plans in emails with her lawyer, which were later leaked and obtained by the House Judiciary Committee.
The information indicated that Maxwell was likely “requesting you release her from her 20-year prison sentence for her role as a co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s international child sex trafficking ring,” the letter, signed by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), said.
The development comes just days after other leaked emails showed Maxwell apparently boasting about how much “happier” she was after being moved to a minimum-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas.
‘LIKE ALICE IN WONDERLAND’: GHISLAINE’S NEW PRISON
Ghislaine Maxwell felt as if she had “dropped through Alice in Wonderland’s looking glass” to a cleaner, brighter place after the Trump administration transferred her to a minimum-security federal prison in Texas.
In emails that Maxwell sent to friends and relatives, obtained by NBC News, the convicted sex offender expressed delight at her transfer to the minimum-security facility.
Within days of arriving at her new prison, Maxwell wrote of her joy over the cleanliness and safety of her new surroundings, NBC News reports.
She wrote to a relative: “The food is legions better, the place is clean, the staff responsive and polite, I have not seen a single fight, drug deal, passed out person or naked inmate running around or several of them congregating in a shower!
“In other words I feel like I have dropped through Alice in Wonderland’s looking glass.”
In another email, she wrote: “The kitchen looks clean too — no possums falling from the ceiling to fry unfortunately on ovens and become mingled with the food being served.”
Maxwell, 63, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted in 2021 of aiding Jeffrey Epstein in the abuse and trafficking of minors, was unexpectedly moved to the minimum-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan just days after meeting with Todd Blanche, the US deputy attorney-general.
Her interview with Mr Blanche came as the Trump administration faced growing pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation.
Maxwell told Mr Blanche that she had “absolutely never” seen Mr Trump behaving inappropriately, according to a transcript of their conversation, The Times reports.
Maxwell’s transfer to the minimum security prison sparked outrage from victims of Epstein, who asked why the convicted sex offender was moved to Federal Prison Camp Bryan, where most of the inmates are serving time for nonviolent offences and white-collar crimes.
The emails were reportedly shared with the House judiciary committee after Maryland representative and Democrat Jamie Raskin sent a letter to the warden of the Texas facility last month, asking about reports in the Wall Street Journal that suggested Maxwell was receiving “VIP treatment” at the prison.
The US Supreme Court last month declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
US CONGRESS DEMANDS ANDREW INTERVIEW
The United States Congress has requested a formal interview with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to question him over his relationship with pedophile businessman Jeffrey Epstein in a bid to unmask co-conspirators involved in his international sex trafficking crimes.
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform leading the investigation has written to the royal, who was officially stripped of his titles by brother, King Charles, on Thursday local time.
“The committee is seeking to uncover the identities of Mr Epstein’s co-conspirators and enablers, and to understand the full extent of his criminal operations,” the letter states.
“Well-documented allegations against you, along with your longstanding friendship with Mr Epstein, indicate that you may possess knowledge of his activities relevant to our investigation.
“In the interest of justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, we request that you co-operate with the committee’s investigation by sitting for a transcribed interview with the committee.”
Congress cannot compel testimony from foreign nationals meaning Mountbatten-Windsor could ignore the request without penalty.
The letter was sent by Democrat members of the committee including Robert Garcia, however Republicans are not among the signatories. The letter is addressed to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor rather than Prince Andrew.
“Rich and powerful men have evaded justice for far too long,” Mr Garcia said in a statement.
“Now, former Prince Andrew has the opportunity to come clean and provide justice for the survivors.
“Oversight Democrats will not stop fighting for accountability and transparency for survivors of Epstein and his gang of co-conspirators.”
In a 2019 interview, Mountbatten-Windsor said he would be willing to testify under oath about the Epstein allegations “under the right circumstances”.
“If push came to shove and the legal advice was to do so, then I would be duty bound to do so,” he said.
Earlier, Mountbatten-Windsor’s final humiliation became official when he was formally stripped off his prince title and had His Royal Highness, a move which was announced last week.
On Thursday (Friday AEDT) details were published by the Crown Office in the The Gazette, completing the formal process of the 65-year-old having titles removed.
The entry in the Gazette said: “THE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince’.”
It has been confirmed that the former Duke of York will have a hyphen in his name moving forward, so he will be referred to as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Another entry also confirmed that Mountbatten-Windsor has been removed from the Roll of Peerage as the Duke of York.
“THE KING has been pleased by Warrant under His Royal Sign Manual dated 30 October 2025 to direct His Secretary of State to cause the Duke of York to be removed from the Roll of the Peerage with immediate effect,” it said.
The developments come after revelations of Mountbatten-Windsor’s close friendship with deceased convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and information coming to light that proved comments he made in a BBC interview in 2019 that he had ceased contact with him proved otherwise.
Emails were made public that showed in 2011 Andrew had been in contact with Epstein despite his public claims the pair’s friendship was over by then.
The confirmation of the removal of Andrew’s titles by his older brother King Charles III has been revealed one week after Their Majesties announced they had started the initial process to remove the style, titles and honours of the 65-year-old disgraced royal.
In a statement publish by Buckingham Palace on October 30 the King and Queen said: “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse”.
Andrew has repeatedly deny any allegations against him, including by deceased mother-of-three Virginia Giuffre who said in her posthumous memoir, “Nobody’s Girl” that as a teenager she was made to have sex with the royal three times.
She wrote in the book, “he believed having sex with me was his birthright”.
He has also been given formal notice to leave his 30-room mansion the Royal Lodge, located on the Windsor Estate, despite having a 75-year-old lease on the property.
He will relocate to Sandringham, the King’s private estate in Norfolk, and live in undisclosed property.
He was required to only pay minimal rent, described as ‘peppercorn’ rent after agreeing to paying upfront costs and spending more than £8m (A$16.1m) in renovations on the lavish home.
