Kate and William didn’t tell Harry and Meghan about cancer because they ‘couldn’t trust them’

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle learned of Princess Catherine’s shock cancer diagnosis along with the rest of the world. Here’s why.

Princess of Wales reveals she has cancer

Prince Harry reportedly learned of Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis on TV.

“It is understood that Kate’s cancer diagnosis was not shared in advance with Harry and Meghan [Markle],” The Times UK reported, after the Princess of Wales, 42, revealed she’s undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

“Several sources confirm that there were no such conversations and it is thought Harry found out about Kate’s diagnosis from television, at the same time as the public.”

The new report from The Times UK comes one day after reports said the Sussexes were “blindsided” by the Princess of Wales’ cancer news.

“They had no idea, and only learned of the news around the same time the rest of the world found out,” an insider told the New York Post.

“This goes to show the irreparable damage they have caused. The trust has been broken and the royal family is OK distancing themselves from them.”

Meanwhile, as soon as the news did break, Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle wished Princess Catherine “health and healing” after she revealed her shock cancer diagnosis.

A royal aide revealed the US-based couple were not given advance knowledge of Catherine’s news before she released it publicly.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the Sussex’s said in a joint statement to Harper’s Bazaar.

The statement had been criticised for being brief and impersonal but it is understood the couple had reached out privately last night.

It is unclear how contact was made but the olive of branch was revealed by ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship.

Once considered the royal family’s “Awesome foursome” and the “Fab Four”, the two couples are no longer on speaking terms.

There had been no word last night whether Harry or Meghan planned to travel to the UK in the wake of the announcements.

Harry did travel home briefly to meet with his father, Prince Charles, after his cancer scare was made public.

The brothers first clashed when Harry accused William in 2018 of not doing enough to integrate his then fiancée Meghan Markle into The Firm.

The rift was further widened in the wake of the tell-all interview on Oprah Winfrey an d then Harry’s book, Spare, exacrebated differences between the two brothers.

William felt betrayed by some of the personal revelations made public by Harry and there has been no move to reconcile - at least until now.
