Olivia Wilde has made a witty joke about Taylor Swift’s headline-making new romance with Travis Kelce, but fans aren’t laughing.

Olivia Wilde has been slammed by Taylor Swift fans.

Taylor Swift’s fans have slammed Olivia Wilde after the actress shared a tweet that appeared to throw shade at the singer’s latest romantic interest, Travis Kelce.

The tweet — which read “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist” — has fans calling out the Don’t Worry Darling star’s own dating history in response.

“Didn’t she date Harry Styles or am I missing something,” one user wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter, calling out the House star, 39, for her past relationship with the famed UK musician.

“I get it but like also … who is Olivia Wilde to say s**t. I don’t remember harry styles restoring the ozone when they were dating,” a second added, noting Wilde’s nearly two-year relationship with the Watermelon Sugar singer, who also previously dated Swift.

Another user took to X to call the actress a “hypocrite,” adding that Wilde herself has done “nothing” for climate change.

While many users were quick to jump to Swift’s defence, others found the humour in Wilde’s retweet.

“Agreed, Olivia! Taylor Swift’s influence combined with a climate scientist’s passion for change could make a powerful impact,” one user wrote.

Continuing to share praise for the tweet, originally posted by Westworld star Katja Herbers, the fan added, “Imagine the awareness they could raise together!”

Another user pointed out that the original tweet was “obviously” a “joke,” writing, “The point was that nobody is doing s**t for the environment. And most definitely not celebrities.”

It comes after the Grammy winning singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end, 34, confirmed their budding romance on September 24.

Swift, 33, was seen in a VIP box with Kelce’s mother, Donna, watching the game and cheering on the football star as he and his team played a winning game against the Chicago Bears.

A week later, Swift was seen in the stands once again cheering on the athlete in New York.

Swift appears to have Kelce completely smitten after spending so much time together.

Since Swift doesn’t begin the next leg of her Eras Tour until October 18, there may be a chance fans will see the singer in the stands again on Sunday as the Chiefs take on the Minnesota Vikings.
