Investigators probing Matthew Perry’s death are reportedly still looking into how the Friends actor got a hold of the ketamine that was found in his system at the time of his death — and are trying to zero in on who is responsible for supplying him with the deadly drug.

Perry, who had long struggled with addiction, was pronounced dead on October 28, 2023, at age 54 after being found unresponsive in a hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades, California, reports the New York Post.

In December, the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the actor died of “acute effects of ketamine”, with enough of the drug equivalent to the general anaesthesia given to surgical patients.

The manner of death was accidental.

The autopsy also listed drowning, coronary artery disease and the opioid buprenorphine as contributors to his death.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ there is an ongoing investigation into where Perry got the ketamine — and who provided him with the toxic drug.

Both local police and the DEA are reportedly involved in the investigation.

Sources told TMZ that authorities have already interviewed key people in Hollywood, namely people who have a history of drug use or abuse.

No arrests have been made.

Days after his tragic passing, the Friends cast — including Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt Leblanc and Lisa Kudrow — shared a statement expressing their grief over the news.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family,” they wrote.

“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” they added. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
