Joe Manganiello’s ‘cold’ last message to Sofia Vergara before split

Just days before Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara split, the actor raised eyebrows with his birthday greeting to his wife.

Hollywood couple Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced today that they are divorcing after seven years of marriage. But for some fans, the writing was already on the wall.

Just days before the glamourous couple announced their split, Manganiello, 46, raised eyebrows when he shared an oddly dry birthday greeting for his wife on social media.

“¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!” the Magic Mike star wrote on the July 11 post, which simply translates to “Happy birthday Sofia.”

Alongside his greeting, the actor shared a blurry old photo of himself and the actress – the same image the Modern Family star posted to mark his birthday back in December 2021.

The message caused many fans to question if the couple were on the rocks, given the “cold” way he greeted his wife on her 51st birthday.

“Am I the only one who doesn’t like the way it sounds? ‘Sofia’…. not even ‘My love, My beloved wife’,” commented one fan, while another said: “What a cold greeting, not a drop of love expressed Joe Manganiello.”

“Something is off,” said yet another fan, while another noticed: “Cold message for her and has two stories about his dog’s birthday. And sofia has not even said thank you.”

One fan pointed out that the actor’s past birthday messages to his wife were more heartfelt.

“Joe, I hope you guys are ok, that was a very different(cold) happy birthday wish to your wife, compare to previous ones!” the fan pointed out.

Indeed, for Vergara’s 50th birthday last year, he expressed his love for the actress while posting happy snaps of them.

“¡Feliz Cumpleaños mi amor!” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I love you so much.”

It also appears the couple celebrated the Colombian actress’ birthday apart, with Vergara living it up with her friends in Italy.

Vergara has been sharing sexy pics from her Italian holiday.

The actress is currently holidaying with friends.

“So lucky to have my best friends in my favourite restaurant in my favourite island!!! I love u @cb0728 @alejandroasen,” she captioned a carousel of holiday snaps from Capri on July 11 – the same day Manganiello posted his greeting.

Vergara and Manganiello announced their split today in a statement obtained by Page Six.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” they wrote.

A source told the outlet that the pair had been leading separate lives in the lead up to their split.

“Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future,” said the source.
