Anna Kendrick moves on with comedian three years after Bill Hader break-up

She’s fiercely private when it comes to her personal life, but now Anna Kendrick’s secret boyfriend has been revealed.

A “pitch perfect” match.

Actress Anna Kendrick has reportedly been quietly dating comedian Alex Edelman for “several months.”

An insider confirmed that Kendrick and the comedian are quite serious after photos of the two in a car surfaced recently.

“It doesn’t seem casual,” the source told People, adding that the Simple Favour star has already “met his mum.”

The source also confirmed that Kendrick was by Edelman’s side during his birthday in March.

“Anna’s very private, though,” the source noted. “They enjoy date night at low-key restaurants that are not your typical celeb hangouts.”

The stand-up star, 36, and Pitch Perfect actress, 39, first sparked dating rumours in March after gossip blog Deux Moi revealed they were an item.

In May, Deux Moi shared a tip from a follower, claiming that Kendrick had attended one of Edelman’s performances before they were seen chatting after the set.

The dating rumours were all but confirmed this week when paparazzi photos surfaced of the pair driving in a car together in Los Angeles.

The Emmy award winning comedian was seen behind the wheel, with Kendrick in the passenger seat as they chatted.

Kendrick has historically been quite private about her dating life.

She was in a relationship with director Edgar Wright from 2009 to 2013 before dating cinematographer Ben Richardson from 2014 to 2020.

She moved on from Richardson with Bill Hader, and the two would go on to date until breaking up in 2022.

In September of that year, Kendrick revealed that she had experienced “emotional abuse and psychological abuse” in a past relationship.

“[I was] in a situation where I loved and trusted this person more than I trusted myself,” she told People in an interview at the time, without identifying her ex.

“So, when that person is telling you that you have a distorted sense of reality and that you are impossible and that all the stuff that you think is going on is not going on, your life gets really confusing really quickly,” she continued.

Kendrick admitted that it was “challenging” for her to heal from the toxic situation.

“My body still believes that it was my fault … even with this concrete jumping off point for me,” she said.

Last year, Kendrick reflected on the break-up, telling Call Her Daddy listeners that she didn’t realise how abusive the relationship was until she got out of it.

“It didn’t follow the traditional pattern,” she said. “I was reading all the articles and going, ‘ … Some of it looks like how they’re describing it, but not completely.’”

At the time, she confirmed that she had dated the anonymous person for seven years before they ended things.

Reps for Kendrick and Edelman did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
