Jerry Seinfeld’s epic comeback to heckler at Sydney show

US comedian Jerry Seinfeld was heckled at his stand-up gig during his Sydney show, but he handled it like a pro.

Jerry Seinfeld’s emotional response when questioned on ‘Israel’s plight’

Jerry Seinfeld gave a blunt response to a pro-Palestine supporter during his Australian show on Sunday night.

The 70-year-old Jewish comedian was disrupted on stage when the heckler yelled to free Palestine during his second stand-up gig at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

“We have a genius, ladies and gentlemen. He solved the Middle East. He solved it,” the funnyman joked to the audience.

“It’s the Jewish comedians, that’s who we have to get. They’re the ones doing everything.”

Still yelling, Seinfeld sarcastically told the activist to continue.

“They’re going to start punching you in three seconds so I would try and get all your genius out so we all learn from you.

“It’s a comedy show, you moron. Get out of here.”

The supporter was kicked out of the show by security. As he was taken out of the arena, the activist was yelling “Palestine will be free”.

Seinfeld continued his set while the advocate was escorted, saying “Imagine if this guy actually did solve the conflict.

“You’re really influencing everyone here. We’re all on your side now because you have made your point so well and in the right venue. You’ve come to the right place for political conversation.

“Tomorrow we will read in the paper: Middle East 100 per cent solved thanks to man at the Qudos Arena stopping jew comedian.

“They stopped him and everyone in the Middle East went ‘Oh my God, let’s just get along. We can’t do that’.

“I know there are problems here [Australia] with Indigenous, Aboriginal and the white [people].

“Maybe to solve that, I will screw up Jim Jefferies in a show in New York. If this works, that will work.

“You have to go 20,000 miles from the problem to screw up a comedian. That is how you solve world issues.”

Towards the end of his show, Seinfeld apologised to the audience for the commotion.

This is not the first time Seinfeld’s show has been disrupted by a pro-Palestinian protester.

Seinfeld was performing in the US state of Virginia when a pro-Palestinian protester proceeded to stand up and shout insults, calling him a “genocide supporter”.

“Save the children of Gaza! No more American tax dollars for genocide!” the protester yelled.

Seinfeld was heard commenting, “This is fun. I like this. I think your message is really resonating with the crowd. People seem to be on your side.”

“How dare you support a genocide!” the protester responded.

“I like it when the Jew-haters spice up the show,” Seinfeld joked.

Additional videos from the night showed an audience member starting a fight with the protester, eventually grabbing him in a headlock. Security came and later escorted the protester out of the room.

The crowd was heard chanting “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” as the protester left.

Seinfeld also faced hecklers during his Duke University commencement speech last month.

Views from the ceremony showed a few students shouting “Free Palestine” and dozens walking out just as he was introduced.

Seinfeld has faced public backlash over his open support for Israel as it wages war in Gaza over the deadly October 7 attack.

Two days after the attack, he wrote an “I Stand With Israel” post on his Instagram account.

“I lived and worked on a Kibbutz in Israel when I was 16 and I have loved our Jewish homeland ever since,” he wrote in a caption.

“My heart is breaking from these attacks and atrocities. But we are also a very strong people in our hearts and minds.”
