US billionaire Elon Musk has angered some of his social media followers after uploading a photo he took of Amber Heard while they were dating.

Elon Musk has shared a private photo he took of Amber Heard while they were dating.
The Tesla founder’s controversial new biography Elon Musk, which was released with a flurry of headline-making lines on Tuesday, detailed how the billionaire asked his actress girlfriend to dress up in cosplay as the character Mercy from the popular video game Overwatch.
Musk, 52, took to X (formerly Twitter) – which he now owns – to share a photo of the Aquaman star in the outfit, writing, “She did dress up as Mercy. It was awesome.”

It’s sparked criticism among some of his followers, with one user slamming the businessman for circulating a personal image.
“Sorta goes without saying but Elon Musk tweeting out a photo of Amber Heard in cosplay for his weird fanboys to drool over is f*cking disgusting,” an X user wrote.
“Elon Musk sharing that picture of Amber Heard in cosplay is skeezy,” another said.
It also comes days after the mother of his three children, musician Grimes, hit out at Musk for sharing a photo of her caesarean section among their inner circle without her consent.
Grimes, 35, shared the insight in Musk’s biography, which was curated and written by US journalist Walter Isaacson and features extensive insight into the controversial mogul’s personal life.
“He was just clueless about why I’d be upset,” Grimes told Isaacson of the photo, which was also sent to her father and brothers.
In the biography, it was further revealed that the couple had secretly welcomed a third baby together, a son named Techno Mechanicus.
The couple already share 3-year-old son X Æ A-Xii and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 22 months. It is not known with which baby the C-section photo was taken, but their daughter, nicknamed Y, was born via surrogate.
Musk confirmed the birth on Twitter as he replied to a tweet from Pop Base about their babies’ names, in which he shared their youngest child would go by the nickname “Tau”.
Musk and Grimes first began dating in 2018 and split in 2021. However, they have reunited multiple times, with Grimes previously describing their relationship as “fluid”.
Meanwhile, Musk and Heard dated for about a year in 2017, following the actress’ messy divorce with US actor Johnny Depp.
There is a section dedicated to Heard, 37, in Musk’s biography, which doesn’t paint a flattering picture of their brief romance.
“She was just so toxic. A nightmare,” Musk’s brother, Kimbal Musk, told Isaacson in the book. “It’s really sad that he falls in love with these people who are really mean to him.
“They’re beautiful, no question, but they have a very dark side and Elon knows they are toxic.”
Heard, who is currently living in Madrid, Spain, also contributed to the book, telling Isaacson the couple bonded over their shared “geek” qualities.
“I guess I could be called a geek for someone who can also be called a hot chick,” Heard said.
The actress conceded she still loves Musk “very much”, but added, “Elon loves fire, and sometimes it burns him.”
Heard is yet to comment following the biography’s release.
