Suri Cruise has stopped dressing like a reality television housewife and is now rocking a more understated look.
The only child of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was spotted going for a morning run. She looked more like a minimalist influencer than someone who took fashion inspiration from Joan Rivers, and that is progress.
Remember when she wasn’t even old enough to attend primary school and she would be seen swanning around in heels.
There was a period when she was a toddler where she’d be seen in a fur coat and heels instead of strutting around in Bonds onesie. She genuinely dressed how you’d imagine a stepmum villain would style herself in a Disney movie.
She looked like she’d skipped shopping at Pumpkin Patch and instead had raided Lisa Rina’s wardrobe.
It was a time.
Now, she’s embraced a far more age-appropriate style and no longer looks like she’s constantly dressed to attend a high tea.
The 18-year-old was seen going for a morning run in New York City’s Central Park. She wore a plain white crop top, black bike shorts, plain running shoes and tied her hair up in a ponytail.
She did the classic Gen Zer thing of wearing giant headphones because huge headphones are in and tiny headphones are out. The bigger the headphones, the younger you are.
Although she’s been one of the most photographed people in the world since she was a child, we know little about her.
Sure, we’ve seen a million photos of her wearing heels as a child, and there have been countless conversations about how she looks like the spitting image of her mum, but otherwise, Suri has managed to maintain some privacy.
She resides in New York City with Holmes, her parents broke up in 2012, and she hasn’t been seen publicly with her famous dad in years.
Despite how famous she is, I mean, she’s the daughter of the man who stars in Mission Impossible, she’s kept things private.
Occasionally, we learn titbits about her.
For instance, when she starred in her school’s musical Head Over Heels production in May 2024, she interestingly didn’t go by the last name Cruise.
Instead, she was credited as Suri Noelle on the playbill, which might sound completely random, but it is her mum’s middle name.
The move follows reports that she is completely estranged from Cruise, with a source telling the Daily Mail that if he called, “she would not answer”.
“He does not exist to Katie or Suri, and his daughter does not want to rely on him for anything,” the insider claimed.
Her mother, Holmes, also rarely speaks about her daughter. Still, in an interview with Glamour in 2023, she said her daughter was an “incredible person” and that she was keen to protect her from the scrutiny of being the child of two famous people.
“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” she said.
