A young Kiwi girl had a surprise encounter with a major Hollywood star while at a McDonald’s drive-thru in New Zealand recently.

The fan’s mother shared a video of her daughter’s run-in with none other than Brad Pitt, who was in town at the time filming his latest film action movie, Heart of the Beast.

In the clip posted on Facebook and filmed last month on Easter Sunday, the young girl approached the actor as he sat with his window down inside a vehicle in the drive-thru queue at a McDonald’s in Kumeū, Auckland.

“Just say hello to my dad?” the girl asked Pitt while filming on her mobile phone.

The actor, who was wearing a plaid jacket, aviator sunglasses and a bucket hat, was caught off guard as he laughed and told the girl, “No” at first.

“Oh, you can’t? Sorry,” she replied.

But the 61-year-old quickly changed his mind and gave the dad a shout-out.

“I’m sorry. Hi Dad,” Pitt said as he waved for the camera.

“Alright, moving on. Happy Easter,” he added.

The girl’s mother later captioned the video, “What a lucky day!!”

Pitt not only stars in the Heart of the Beast but he also serves as producer in the action-adventure film.

The actor will play a former US Army Special Forces soldier who attempts to survive treacherous terrain after a terrible accident leaves him and his retired combat dog stranded deep in the Alsakan wilderness.

Queenstown serves as the faux-Alaskan backdrop for the survival movie. Filming has taken place in the wilderness near Kinloch on the North Island of New Zealand, as well as in other locations around the South Island.

Pitt has also reportedly whipped himself into shape for the movie, which is his most physically challenging roles in years.

“This movie came together quickly, but Brad has been quietly amping up his workouts with the specifics of this wilderness adventure in mind,” a source recently told InTouch magazine.

“This is going to be an intense shoot and even though Brad isn’t doing all of his own stunts, he’s going to be in some physically hairy situations.”
