Bluey fans were quick to spot some iconic Adelaide landmarks in the latest episode of the popular children’s cartoon series.

The new Series Three episode, titled Cubby, aired on the ABC on Sunday night, and shows Bluey’s family relaxing in the loungeroom, where the father Bandit is watching a cricket Test Match on TV.

Bandit complains that the 50-inch screen is “no longer an acceptable size in this day and age”.

After Bluey and her younger sister Bingo borrow cushions from the sofa to build an extra bedroom on their indoor cubby house, which gradually takes over the lounge room,

the cartoon shows Bandit sitting on the floor, looking at an illustration of what appears to be St Peter’s Cathedral on the TV screen.

The cartoon cricket commentator says “... and that’s the story of St Peter’s”.

It goes on to depict seagulls on the cricket pitch – a familiar sight at Adelaide Oval.

“Was the cricket from Adelaide Oval?” wrote Adelaide resident Sarah Dennis on the Bluey official Facebook page.

“I’m sure that was the cathedral that was on the screen at one point. Cannot love this show enough!! And I don’t have kids.”

Reddit user zer0day9 wrote that “The glorious sunshine and play actually happening was also a giveaway”.

Fellow SA Reddit commenter dandharma also thought the show depicted Adelaide.

“Usually Adelaide test is before Xmas, so it would be the start of summer school holidays for the heeler kids,” dandharma wrote.

“Maybe Bandit has knocked off for the year as well?”

Another SA resident, bladeau81, said the cartoon also inspired budding builders:

“And they built an awesome indoor cubby house, so of course my kids then spent the afternoon using every blanket, sheet, pillow, cushion and sleeping bag they could find to make one at home too!”

The episode showed very familiar sights for Adelaide cricket fans in particular.

The Bluey Facebook page was also full of photos from parents whose own children had built indoor cubby houses from cushions and sheets after watching the episode.

In February, an American mum sought help from a Facebook parenting group after spotting an oddly shaped object in the background of an earlier Bluey episode.

Amanda, from Massachusetts, thought the object – which was sticking out from some bushes – was a bottle of wine.

Australian mums were quick to point out what the object really was.

“Immediately knew it was a cricket bat,” one woman wrote, while another said: “Definitely a cricket bat, but also a test to see what your mind is thinking about.”
