Barry Hall and Lauren Brant announce birth of third baby, Samson

Former Hi-5 star Lauren Brant and retired AFL player Barry Hall have welcomed a baby boy and have shared the touching inspiration behind his name.

Former AFL star Barry Hall and his wife, Lauren Brant, have welcomed a baby boy.

Former Hi-5 star Brant announced the happy news on social media on Sunday, nearly two weeks after the birth of baby Samson Andy Hall who is the couple’s third child.

“Our beautiful baby boy arrived Earth Side 26/10/2021, at 6.18am as a perfect 3.535kg & 51cm bundle,” she wrote.

“We have been in a complete love bubble of newborn smells, noises, kisses and cuddles. Miller & Houston are besotted with their baby brother and our hearts are just SO full.

“Thank you for your well-wishes, love & support while we took some time off the grid...and now be prepared for lots of baby squish on your feed.”

Barry Hall and Lauren Brant have welcomed a baby boy named Samson.

Lauren Brant and Barry Hall are now parents to three boys.

Brant, 32, revealed that she wanted to honour her late sister-in-law, Sandra Rosemary Brant, when choosing the baby’s name.

“This baby boy gave us the strength to appreciate, respect and surrender to both the gift and impermanence of life,” she wrote.

‘We were blessed with him a few days before our beautiful Sandra passed. He was the ‘light’ through our grief.’

Lauren Brant’s sister in law Sandra passed away at age 41 in March after losing her brave battle with bowel cancer.

“In choosing a ‘name’ we wanted to honour our sons [sic] special connection to Sandy. We experienced a deeply spiritual week of strong messages from her through symbols of sunshine and sunflowers that were being told to us via Miller and Houston. Out of nowhere and as clear as daylight - the name Samson came to us.

“The meaning [and] origin of Samson is ‘sun’ and biblically, he was endowed with strength.”

Sandra tragically died in March at age 41 after losing her brave battle with bowel cancer.

The former children’s entertainer added that Samon’s middle name is a nod to his footy star father Hall, 44, whose middle name is Andrew.

“A special little touch, when written with his first initial reads: S.Andy.”

The couple first met in 2015 while filming the TV show, I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here and secretly tied the knot in February this year.

They are also parents to sons Houston, two, and Miller, four.
