HE’S one of Australia’s best and most experienced TV presenters, but Eddie McGuire hasn’t always been such a pro.

The Hot Seat host was presenting at the Logies with his 12-year-old son Xander who recently joined the cast of Neighbours to play the role of Charlie Hoyland.

A bit of a coincidence, last year when I drove Xander out … for his first day on the Neighbours set, we were told to park in a car park that was exactly the same car park that my father drove me out to for my first day at work back in 1982,” Eddie said.

“How did you go on your first day?” asked Xander.

“I was a natural,” replied Eddie, “What do you expect?”

“Really? That’s not what the crew said,” quipped Xander.

The Logies then cut to some footage from Eddie’s first day on the job as a reporter and it shows just how much he’s improved over the last few decades.

He stumbled, he stuttered and he forgot his lines.

But we all know how successful Eddie’s been since. Here’s hoping his son Xander enjoys similar success.
