Golden Globes 2024: Taylor Swift stuns in green on the red carpet

Pop icon Taylor Swift didn’t get lucky at the Golden Globes, and eagle-eyed fans noticed she decided to leave the awards ceremony early. See the pictures.

Fans and media noticed that Taylor Swift was nowhere to be seen in the crowd at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday night after her Eras Tour film lost the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category to Barbie at the Golden Globes.

While Swift was spotted giving the Barbie cast and crew a standing ovation as they went up to receive their award, she was also seen earlier looking visibly annoyed when she became the butt of a joke from emcee Jo Koy, who poked fun at how the NFL has more camera shots of Taylor than the Globes.

Swift was spotted pressing her lips together and taking a chug of champagne in response to Koy’s jibe. Later, Koy admitted on the show GMA3 that his joke about Swift was “a little flat.”

A source at the awards show told TMZ that Swift indeed left her seat shortly after the Cinematic Achievement category loss to go to the restroom, and ended up watching the rest of the show from the back. She reportedly left the venue altogether about 15 minutes before the Globes ended.

TMZ reported that even while the “Lover” singer dipped out early it might not have been for spite, as boyfriend Travis Kelce was also in town.

Swift was also seen having a gossip with Selena Gomez who approached her table and appears to have shared something scandalous.

Earlier, Swift, Margot Robbie and Natalie Portman were among a sea of Hollywood A-listers who sparkled in their exquisite gowns for the 81st Golden Globe Awards red carpet.

In true Barbie style, Robbie dazzled in a hot pink pink number complete with a fuchsia chiffon scarf.

The ensemble is a sequinned rendition of a 1977 Barbie dress, recreated by Armani.

Barbie received nine nominations but only took home two awards.

Swift — who was up for best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement thanks to The Eras Tour Concert film, but who eventually lost — stunned in sparkling green.

Swifties will know that green is the colour of the snake that Kim Kardashian once used to describe Swift in social media posts.

The musician leaned into the snake imagery for her album Reputation and for the start of her Eras tour. Her ring on the red carpet is in the shape of a snake, by the way.

Selena Gomez wore a metallic red gown had chest cutouts decorated with black floral appliqués and an asymmetrical skirt that was knee-length on one side and nearly reached the floor on the other.

She wore the design, which was custom-made by Armani Privé, with diamond jewelry and an updo hairstyle.

Emily Blunt, dressed in a chiffon number, has been nominated for best female actor in a supporting role in a film for her role in Oppenheimer.

Her husband, actor John Krasinski, wore a deep red suit jacket.

Reese Witherspoon took to the red carpet with her son Deacon Phillippe, where she revealed her and Nicole Kidman were working on season three of Big Little Lies.

Emma Stone wore a shimmering, sequin dress with floral notes.

Karen Gillan’s black-and-white gown showed lots of skin. The Iris Van Herpen gown’s swirling design almost looked like a creature with scales across her skin.
