2022 AACTA Audience Choice Awards voting is now open

These are just a few examples of the contenders you can get behind in the AACTA Audience Choice Awards.

For the third time in its history, the Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) have opened voting to the public for its much-anticipated annual awards show.

This year’s awards, taking place on December 7 in Sydney, will see the popular audience choice categories run alongside the peer-voted prizes to be announced on the night, with voting opening to the public today.

Some of the eight categories include Best Film, Best TV Series, Best Actor and Best Actress, with the top five nominees from each to be revealed ahead of the ceremony, which is presented by The Foxtel Group and will be broadcast on Channel 10.

There’s also two new categories bolstering the line-up this year, including Best Sports Program and Best Sports Commentary Team.

Rounding out the list is Best TV Personality and Best Digital Creator, which fans have until midnight October 19 to vote in via news.com.au.

Once voting closes, the AACTAs will tally the results and shortlist five frontrunners, with the finalised nominations to be announced ahead of the ceremony in December.

The AACTAs will be at The Hordern in Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter on Wednesday December 7, with fans also able to purchase tickets to attend.
