Aussie actor Ryan Corr said he warned producers after landing his dream acting job.

Corr will be seen as knight Ser Herwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong in House of the Dragon, the much anticipated Game of Thrones prequel that will have its world premiere on BINGE and Foxtel on Monday.

“I did warn them,” Corr told The Daily Telegraph. “I said, ‘you know I’ve got the body of a 12-year-old diver so I hope you’ve got armour that can bolster us up. They said that wasn’t what they were looking for, that I have an essence and they wanted to work with me.”

“It is the stuff of childhood dreams. When I was six or seven I wanted to be in Braveheart or a sword and sandals sort of number,” he said.

“I think every actor under the sun wants to jump in and do something fantasy or do something in this world so certainly when Game of Thrones came out years ago, I wanted to be on that show and sure enough at the back end of the first end of Covid, just when I was looking like I hadn’t cut my hair for years, an audition came up and here we go.”

Corr led the charge up the fantastical red carpet at Sydney’s Hoyts Entertainment Quarter for a premiere screening of the first episode.

The series is set around 200 years before Game of Thrones and will tell the story of House Targaryen.

It stars fellow Australian Milly Alcock as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. ALcock yesterday walked the red carpet for the London premiere screening and the iconic Leicester Square.

I am humbled stupid,” he said of scoring the job. “I am very happy being a representative for Australia here on the show while Milly is across the pond taking over the world both metaphorically and physically.”

He added of 22-year-old Alcock: “I just think she is so stunning. At her age when I was acting, I don’t know how I’d deal with the pressure of that weight on your shoulders. She is spectacular.”

Corr, 33, is a familiar face on the small and big screen in Australia. His TV credits include Love Child, Packed to the Rafters and Redfern Now while on the big screen, he appeared in The Water Diviner, Holding the Man and Wolf Creek 2.

Working on set of House of the Dragon was an incredible experience for the actor.

“You’re rocking up to functional sets with castles and cauldrons full of fire above you, teams of people whose only job it is to light that fire,” he said. “By the time we actually get there, it is the accumulative effort of hundreds if not thousands of people and you are walking on in full garb with armour that is made just for you with some of the best actors in the world into functional castles. It is not a huge amount of acting required – it is just as exciting as it sounds.”
