Former SA Great chief executive and Adelaide Fringe chairwoman Judy Potter has been appointed to head the Adelaide Festival board from next year.
Ms Potter, who now chairs the South Australian Film Corporation, will take over from current Festival chairman Richard Ryan when his term expires in April.
Arts Minister Jack Snelling said Ms Potter would bring a wealth of experience to the role.
“Judy has been involved in many organisations, including the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Adelaide Central Market Authority, SA Great, Carclew Youth Arts Centre, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, State Herbarium and Musica Viva just to name a few,’’ Mr Snelling said.
“I expect the incoming chair will work closely with the 2017-19 Adelaide Festival co-directors Neil Armfield and Rachel Healy to continue the excellence of the festival into the future.’’
NOVA Defence chief executive Jim Whalley and Adelaide City Councillor Megan Hender have also joined the Festival board to replace two outgoing members, Flinders University associate professor Steve Brown and Department of Treasury executive director Tammie Pribanic.
