Adelaide radio ratings: Triple M reigns but battle for second spot heats up

Triple M is dominating the SA radio ratings, both in the all-important brekkie shift and overall. But there’s a fascinating tussle for the silver medal spot.

Triple M’s breakfast trio Roo, Ditts and Loz has been comfortably topping the ratings this year.

The new status quo has continued in this month’s radio ratings, with Triple M’s breakfast team of Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar and Laura O’Callaghan strengthening their hold on Adelaide’s main ratings battleground.

Roo, Ditts & Loz came in hot with 15.2 share points – up 0.1 from the last radio ratings survey.

FIVEaa’s Will Goodings and David Penberthy came in equal second with 11.9 points, down 0.6. They are locked in a seesawing battle for the silver medal with ABC Radio Adelaide’s Stacey Lee and Nikolai Beilharz, who also finished with 11.9, up 0.8 from the previous survey.

In the fourth survey for 2023, Nova 91.9 remained in fourth place with their breakfast double-header of Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson followed by an Adelaide-based show hosted by Jodie Oddy and Andrew Hayes.

They were followed by Mix 102.3 and its Ali Clarke Breakfast Show on 9.1, an increase of 0.2 on the last survey, tying with SAFM’s Bec and Soda who rose 0.9 share points after last month’s dip to 8.2.

In the overall rankings, FM reigned supreme – with Triple M remaining the number one station on 14.6 (a massive rise from 12.4 last survey), followed by Mix 102.3 (11.6), Nova 919 (10.4).

SAFM (9.6) has had a huge 0.9 point surge to overtake FIVEaa (8.8) for fourth spot overall, with ABC Adelaide (8.8) tied for fifth place after landing seventh in last month’s survey.

ABC’s rise comes after breakfast host Stacey Lee criticised the national broadcaster’s decision to abolish state-based Sunday night news bulletins as part of a major restructure.

Up to 120 jobs are going, including dozens of journalists and the arts team, and local Sunday news bulletins will be replaced with one national 7pm bulletin.
