Tom Ballard - Problematic

Comedy *****

GOUD - Corona, until February 26

TOM Ballard lives a fairly privileged life.

He’s a white middle class male, an award-winning comic, a popular radio presenter and he’s even hosted the ABC’s Q & A.

And when it comes to politics, he has an opinion or two …

Hilarious from start to finish, Problematic is a show which, as it turns out, is not problematic at all – it’s absolutely flawless.

Irreverent but respectful (for the most part), Ballard explores the double edged sword that is political correctness and unpacks issues of sexuality, disability, ethnicity, fame and privilege. Nothing is off limits.

And a special shout out must go to Amy, the Auslan interpreter – well played, Ballard.

Bold, daring and delightfully offensive, this is political comedy – no, scratch that - comedy at its very best.
