Adelaide Fringe Review 2017: Damien & Ross in Safari Psychosis

Damien & Ross in Safari Psychosis

Comedy 1/2

The Tuxedo Cat, until March 18

ART is meant to confront and challenge.

But this is not art. This is crap.

It’s not really worth going into the storyline because this show’s barely got one.

Two blokes, Damien Vosk and Ross Purdy, wind up in the jungle suffering from safari psychosis.

Ross then tries to convince Damien to suck honey out of his anus and moons us.

They also play a game show titled ‘Is it funnier with a wig?’. It isn’t.

At one point they acknowledge their audience of nine is dying and invite us to dance the Macarena with them. Only six of us do.

Then two people walk out, so now we’re down to an audience of seven.

Later in the show Ross cries out to the heavens “God, kill me!”, to which one of the remaining audience members adds “me too”.

The only reason they’re getting half a star and not nothing at all is because they played Hall & Oates’ You Make My Dreams in a montage and I like that song.

A trainwreck from start to finish.
