New Zealand superstar Lorde will give her first Adelaide concert since 2014 as part of next year’s Adelaide Festival.
The outdoor spectacular at Adelaide Oval’s Village Green on March 16 will also feature Los Angeles indie pop trio MUNA and SA singer-songwriter Stellie.
Tickets will go on sale for Festival Friends at 10am Tuesday and to the general public at 10am Wednesday from Ticketek, priced at $129 for general admission standing.
After a three-year break from touring, Lorde resumed live performances this year after the release of her third album, Solar Power.
The festival’s outdoor concert setting, with its backdrop of native trees, will reflect the album’s themes.
“Solar Power is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” Lorde said.
“In times of heartache, grief, deep love or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
Lorde’s tour will kick off in New Zealand in February, with dates already announced for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, at 16 Lorde topped the US charts and won two Grammy Awards including Song of the Year for her single Royals.
