I’m A Celebrity 2021 winner Abbie Chatfield on Instagram and body positivity

Reality TV veteran Abbie Chatfield says she is aware that it is her looks which have propelled her to fame, but she is now more comfortable in her own skin.

Abbie Chatfield is under no illusion about what it takes to make it in reality television and as a social media star.

The brutal reality, whether the 25-year-old likes it or not, is that looks count.

“No one cares deeper than a flex or a good rig,” Chatfield told The Daily Telegraph after being crowned winner of the 2021 season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

“The whole platform (celebrity profile) was from how I look and my titties. I am slowly starting to post what I want and be who I want to be. I have stopped using filters (on social media images) and (instead) sharing nice moments. If people don’t like it, they can unfollow me. On the flip side, it is my job and my income. You live in this circle of thought.”

It is a valuable lesson learnt by Chatfield through appearing on I’m A Celebrity as she was able to share her views on a range of topics including body positivity, speaking out against body shaming, online bullying and for being a proud feminist.

Chatfield, who has the word feminist tattooed on the inside of her left bicep, admits to often

feeling conflicted in marrying her feminist beliefs with her rise to fame.

“It blows my mind that in order to progress … I need to still look a certain way and to be able to really excel and succeed and be able to share my thoughts on feminism that wouldn’t normally have conversations about feminism. Some days I just want to cut all of my hair off and not care if I lose weight or gain weight, not care how I dress, I just want to be comfortable and then I think, I am not going to get anywhere and that is the harsh reality of it. If I didn’t look the way I did, I really wouldn’t get very far.”
