A private college in Adelaide’s north expects to increase its enrolments by almost half with the construction of a $35m primary school.

Students in reception to year 6 will study at Endeavour College for the first time when its primary school campus opens in 2027.

The three-storey building with 14 learning areas, a library and STEM spaces will allow for up to 378 additional students.

It current high school campus has about 750 students.

Andrew and Lilianne Suter plan to send their daughters Savannah, 8 and Madison, 4 to the new primary school when it opens.

Savannah would start in year 5 and Madison in year 1 at Endeavour College.

“The idea of being able to send your children to the same school from early in their education is really valuable,” Mr Suter, 43, said.

Ms Suter, 39, said the plans for the new school “massively influenced” the Mawson Lakes couple’s decision.

“We really see the potential for them to build and nurture long term friendships here,” she said.

The campus will have purpose-built music tutorial rooms, outdoor play and learning areas and a central hub for assemblies, performances, sport and community events.

The designs also include a footbridge over Mawson Lakes Boulevard to connect the junior and senior campuses.

Endeavour College principal Richard Baird said the project was “the most significant milestone” in the school’s 27-year history.

“For the first time we will provide a complete and seamless educational pathway from the early years to year 12 – something we know is highly sought after by many families,” Mr Baird said.

“We will inspire and support students from the very start of their schooling journey within a values-based and nurturing environment.

“We remain committed to personalised learning and ensuring each child receives individual attention.”

Educational infrastructure is “crucial” with the growing population of the northern suburbs, Endeavour board chairwoman Leanne Risdale said.

Mossop Construction and Interiors was appointed to deliver the project.

It comes after new public school announcements for the northern suburbs this year, with one $155m secondary campus in Eyre and a $70m primary and preschool site, which is yet to be revealed.
