The new Aldinga birth-to-12 school will swallow a large swath of territory from neighbouring Willunga High School as well as the southern portion of the area now served by Seaford Secondary College.
Proposed zones published by the State Government show the new school will draw students from Maslin Beach in the north, through to Sellicks Beach in the south, and includes Port Willunga, Aldinga and Aldinga Beach.
The Moana Primary School catchment will be reduced slightly along with the two high schools.

The new school’s primary zone will overlap with the Aldinga Beach B-7 school.
“These new and amended school zones will ensure the local student population is distributed so the schools can accommodate current and projected student numbers and the growing demand for public education in the south,” Education Minister John Gardner said.
“This new school will be a welcome addition for many families in the growing south and will offer the local community world class, modern facilities for students to learn in.
“Development of these proposed zones has been based on sophisticated analyses, which considers a range of factors including accessibility by road, current and projected demand, existing school locations and current and future housing developments.”
The new school – at 143 Port Road, Aldinga – is part of a $1.3 billion capital investment in schools across the state.
It is scheduled to open in 2022 with construction supporting about 450 jobs.
Adelaide-based Sarah Constructions will manage the project, engaging local subcontractors and suppliers.
The school is intended to accommodate 1675 students, including 100 inclusive places for students with a disability and a 75 place children’s centre.
Willunga High School now has 1000 students and Seaford Secondary College has 830.
Moana Primary is just shy of 500 students while Aldinga Beach has 700.
Primary school zoning will be reviewed in a few years with considerable housing development in the area still in progress.
The proposed zones are open for public feedback with the Education Department aiming to finalise them late this year ahead of the 2022 school year.
Students already enrolled at a school will be able to continue at their existing school despite zone changes.
