'Devil baby' terrorises New York to promote new film 'Devil's Due'

A DEMONIC animatronic baby has scared New Yorkers out of their wits - and given the web a mighty good laugh.

Devil baby attack

BABIES can seem terrifying at the best of times. But even the most fearsome bawling bub has nothing on this little guy - a harrowing, red eyed, vomit-spraying spawn of Satan.

A video now going viral on YouTube shows the incredibly lifelike animatronic doll being propelled about the streets of Manhattan in a remote controlled pram, suddenly springing up and scaring the hell out of passers-by.

The demonic doll can blink, move its head about, and prop itself up in the pram, while scary baby noises emanate from a concealed speaker. A hidden pump allows it to projectile vomit baby goo.

The video has proved a hit on YouTube, where it had more than 60,000 views within six hours.

The stunt was a low-cost marketing effort for the new film Devil's Due, a horror flick which opens in American cinemas this coming weekend.

The film - a no-big-name-star-affair - tells the story of a newlywed couple who find themselves dealing with an unexpected pregnancy.

"While recording everything for posterity, the husband begins to notice odd behaviour in his wife that they initially write off to nerves, but, as the months pass, it becomes evident that the dark changes to her body and mind have a much more sinister origin," states the movie blurb on the Internet Movie Database.

News_Rich_Media: Let's hope this horror flick will be as good as its promotional campaign. Devil's Due is out late January.
