Matt Moran, Dan Hong and Mark Best are ambassadors for Tasting Australia 2020

High profile chef, restaurateur and TV personality Matt Moran will relocate to Adelaide in March as ambassador of Tasting Australia, along with Dan Hong and Mark Best.

New MasterChef judges announced

Matt Moran, Dan Hong and Mark Best have been named as ambassadors for next year’s Tasting Australia festival, which will run from March 27 to April 5.

Festival director Simon Bryant welcomed the food personalities, saying the trio would help raise the profile of South Australian produce.

“Matt, Dan and Mark share the philosophy of the festival and that’s very important to us when working with industry talent – to share our story and strengthen the narrative nationally,” Mr Bryant said.

Moran is a restaurateur, chef and TV personality, with appearances on The Great Australian Bake Off, The Chopping Block and MasterChef. Mr Hong is best-known as owner of the iconic Lotus restaurant in Sydney’s Potts Point, while Mr Best took Sydney diner Marque to a global top 50 ranking.

Events that involve the trio are expected to sell quickly.

“Matt Moran will be joining me at the Yalumba Farmgate Lunch on the first Sunday of the event,” Mr Bryant said.

“This will be an event not to be missed; amazing food, wine and entertaining stories from the kitchen.”

RAA Travel also has been named as Tasting Australia’s presenting partner for the next three years.

Tourism minister David Ridgway Ridgway welcomed the partnership.

“RAA is an iconic South Australian brand … we’re excited about building on the synergy between food, wine and travel,” Mr Ridgway said.

This year’s Tasting Australia attracted 64,000 visitors to Town Square, and generated $5.5m for the state’s economy.

Tasting Australia’s 2020 program is out now.
