A series of intimate dinners in an old shearing shed hits the Limestone Coast this month but you’ll have to be quick to snap up a ticket – each night is restricted to just 12 diners.

The ‘A Table of Twelve’ series is the brainchild of winemaker Sue Bell who regularly invites guest chefs from across Australia to take up a residency at her 1868 Glen Roy shearing shed-turned boutique winery and cellar door. Chef Shane Wilson (formerly The Henry Austin and Bistro Dom) is the latest to hit Bellwether’s kitchen.

“I love having chefs here and seeing what they do with Limestone Coast ingredients and produce from our garden,” Sue says. “Shane is particularly creative.”

The nightly six-course degustation with matching wines continues until 26 January.

It’s a great time to hit the wine region. Coonawarra also hosts the Grapes of Mirth wine and comedy event hits town on January 18.

A Table Of Twelve, $200/per person or $550 for two including on-site Bell tent accommodation. A minimum of 48 hours notice is advised. Contact Bellwether Wines via glenroywinemakers@bigpond.com or 0447 334 545 to save a place at the table. bellwetherwines.com.au
