What are the rules around travel now that SA has put in place a hard border with greater Brisbane? We answer some of your questions.
Am I allowed into SA from Brisbane?
Only residents, essential workers and people relocating to SA are allowed into the state from the Greater Brisbane area. That also includes the surrounding areas of Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich and Redlands. You will have to isolate for 14 days after you arrive.
Am I allowed to go to Brisbane?
You may go to Brisbane – but you will have to abide by their three-day lockdown and you will have to isolate when you come back to SA.
Do I have to isolate if I’ve been elsewhere in Queensland, such as the Gold Coast?
You are free to come to SA from anywhere in Queensland other than the greater Brisbane area. Direct flights from the Gold Coast to Adelaide, for instance, are unrestricted so long as you haven’t visited Brisbane.
Can I transit at Brisbane Airport?
As long as you stay within the airport and it’s within a two-hour period, Premier Steven Marshall has said.
Can I go to NSW?
Despite two infected people visiting Byron Bay while contagious, SA has not imposed any restrictions on travel from NSW.
Am I entitled to a refund on flights over Easter?
Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin said travellers can change their travel date or receive a flight credit.
Can the Suns play the Crows in Adelaide on Friday?
The Gold Coast Suns and the AFL have both confirmed that the Queensland team meets all the requirements to travel to SA and will face the Crows on Friday.
