SA’s Chief Public Health Officer says it remains unclear how long an infected truck driver spent at a popular northern suburbs pub, which is why authorities have set an exposure window spanning almost eight hours.
Speaking on Saturday morning after six new Tier 1 exposure sites were announced, Professor Nicola Spurrier said she was worried about potential spread as she urged people to check in.
Authorities said one case visited the Cross Keys Hotel at Cavan between 6.15pm on Monday, August 30 and 2am on Tuesday, August 31.
Prof Spurrier said it was unclear how long the driver had been spent at the venue, which was why the exposure period was so long.
Health Minister Stephen Wade said it was concerning people hadn’t checked in.
The new exposure sites were all visited by a Covid positive case, and are therefore listed as tier 1 sites, meaning anyone who was at the sites at the times listed must get tested immediately and quarantine for fourteen days.

WALK-IN VACCINATION CLINIC COMING TO MYER CENTRE
The Myer Centre pop up clinic will offer the state’s first walk in vaccinations from next Tuesday, September 14.
It will offer between 1000 and 15000 appointments five days a wee between Tuesdays and Saturday.
Chief public health officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier, said more walk in clinics would be offered in coming weeks.
“I think it is really important, it’s all well and good for people who have a pretty organised sort of life, to be able to get on and make a booking, but it’s not easy for everybody to please important that we have these walking clinics,” she said.
“This is the next phase of our vaccine rollout so I’m absolutely thrilled to have this particular venue, that’s really good coming here today seeing how big it is.
“And, let’s see how we go with the numbers, and if this runs successfully, I think you will see more pop ups happening in the future.”
She said SA Health had landed on a number for Port’s preliminary final crowd at the Adelaide Oval next weekend.
She did not have a figure although officials had been exploring half capacity.
She also discussed the new exposure sites, which emerged after more investigations with the infectious truckies.
She said all discussions with contact tracers are kept confidential after it emerged there were no QR code check ins at one of the hotels that also offers topless waitresses.
