Spicks and Specks, The Last Leg’s Adam Hills shares iso-life with wife and daughters

From watching TV show Bluey to listening to Frozen 2 and Flight of The Conchords soundtracks in the morning, here is what iso-life is like for Spicks and Specks, The Last Leg host Adam Hills.

With everyone in the same boat – hunkering down as much as possible – we’re checking in occasionally with well-known Aussies to see how they are going and what they’re loving to do.

Today Adam Hills, host of Spicks and Specks and The Last Leg on ABC, talks about iso-life at home with wife Ali McGregor and daughters Beatrice and Maisie

Before the kids go to bed, it’s Bluey on ABC iView.

Much like our family, it’s about two daughters, a clever mum, and a daggy and loveable Aussie dad. It’s beautifully made, sweetly funny, and very relatable.

After the kids go to bed, it’s Big Mouth on Netflix. Much like my adolescent years, it’s awkward, confusing, and occasionally filthy.

Everything I can about the coronavirus. Partly because of my job on The Last Leg, I’ve been reading about COVID-19 since it first hit China, and it still amazes me some people aren’t taking it seriously – especially people who know absolutely nothing about medicine but seem to think they know better than the experts.

As much uplifting music as possible. Every morning, my daughters and I start the day with some happy music.

Today it was the soundtrack to Frozen 2, yesterday it was Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, before that it was Flight of The Conchords, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Gerry Cinnamon, and Poi Dog Pondering.

Right now, it feels like those in the arts are suffering financially, while also reminding us why we need them. Hopefully, when this is over, we’ll embrace live entertainment with gusto.

I’m doing my best to get fitter, which is kind of a new skill. I spend most of my time behind a keyboard, so the idea of daily exercise is novel.

I have been playing for a Disability Rugby League Team in the UK, and they’ve sent the whole team an exercise regimen that involves spelling out names using exercises.

For example, A is 15 Press Ups, B is 50 Star Jumps, C is 20 Crunches … and so on.

Two days ago I had to spell out South Sydney Rabbitohs, and it almost wiped me out.
