Two interstate flights, sports club named as exposure sites

There are three new Covid cases in SA today, taking the number of cases since borders opened to 54. Two flights have also been named as new exposure sites.

There have been three new cases of Covid-19 reported today - one overseas aquired, one from interstate and one local.

The total number of actice cases since borders opened on November 23 has risen to 54, with one of today’s new cases taking the Nordwood cluster tally to 28.

There have been 976 cases reported in South Australia since the global pandemic started.

Today’s cases are two women in their 30s and 50s and a man in his 60s.

The case from interstate is classified as historial and will not be counted in our active cases.

Two previously reported cases have now been removed from the SA numbers as they have returned interstate.

A woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s remain in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a stable condition but there are no people in ICU.

Meanwhile, two new exposure sites were listed by SA Health on Wednesday morning, both flights from Melbourne.

The first, Qantas flight QF691 touched down on Sunday at 5.10pm. Anyone sitting in rows 11 to 15 has been considered a close contact.

The second, Qantas flight QF67, touched down about 11.30am Monday, with anyone sitting in rows 11 to 15 also considered a close contact.

Four new Covid cases were reported in South Australia on Tuesday.

The new cases are two men aged in their 40s and two women, one in their teens and one in their 20s.

Two of Tuesday’s cases were acquired interstate and two acquired their infection locally and are close contacts linked to the Norwood cluster.

It comes as SA authorities said they hoped to have more information by the end of the week on Omicron and its effects on SA.

A woman in her 50s has been transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where a man in his 60s also remains. Both are in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, a sports club in the western suburbs was listed as a new exposure site on Tuesday.

Anyone who attended the West Torrens Baseball Club’s rooms and bar on Friday, December 3, from 6pm to 8.30pm is now a close contact and must immediately quarantine.

Visitors who were outside the club have been named as causal contacts.

It comes as a baffled Adelaide man “imprisoned” in a medi-hotel revealed he received a positive and negative Covid test result within minutes of each other.

And Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas has vowed to chair the transition committee if elected – in stark contrast to Premier Steven Marshall.

Overnight, SA Health announced new visitor guidelines at public hospitals, which will begin from December 7.

Patients will only be able to have one visitor for two hours at a time, with allowances made for paediatric patients and in certain circumstances when approved by the Hospital or Local Health Network.

Unvaccinated visitors will have to wear protective clothing and get a Covid test.

On Monday, there were four new cases reported – two men aged in their 20s and 60s and two women in their 30s and 50s.

There have now been 975 Covid cases reported in SA to date.
