Swedish electric vehicle brand Polestar has expanded its retail presence to South Australia on the back of significant demand from buyers.
Polestar Adelaide is being operated by local high-end automotive retailer Solitaire Automotive Group, and is based on Glen Osmond Rd at Parkside.
The company said it was part of Polestar’s strategy to move to a more active retail model in partnership with experienced dealerships.
Adelaide joins Chadstone, Port Melbourne, Artarmon, Alexandria, Penrith, Brisbane, and Perth in the Polestar Spaces network.
Polestar Australia managing director Scott Maynard said they were delighted to be partnering with Solitaire.
“South Australian electric car buyers have been vocal in their calls to secure a Polestar retail location, and we’re very excited to be delivering,’’ he said.
“Adelaide is an important step in our Australian expansion plans, bringing our growing range of cars to more people in more places.”
Polestar in 2024 expanded its range to three models with two new electric SUVs - Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 - joining Polestar 2 on Australian roads.
Polestar 2 was the first fully electric model, available in three variants with a combination of standard and long range powertrains.
Polestar 3 is a large, luxury electric SUV, while Polestar 4 blends coupe looks with SUV spaciousness, and its design includes no rear windscreen and a high-definition rear-facing camera feed.
It’s the fastest Polestar to date, capable of 0-100km/h in as little as 3.8 seconds.
Polestar 2 pricing starts at $62,400.
