Slice of former Panorama TAFE site up for sale

A huge slice of the former TAFE site in Panorama previously earmarked for a major housing project has been put on the market.

Developers are being sought to take over a huge slice of the former TAFE site in Panorama, which had previously been earmarked for a major townhouse project.

Landmark Homes and Properties is offloading the site after securing approval for 56 townhouse allotments across 14,380sq m of land behind Hurley Group’s new $35m Panorama Hotel currently under construction on Goodwood Rd.

An adjoining site of 1536sq m is also included in the sale, with a heads of agreement in place for development of a 115-place childcare centre.

Colliers has been appointed to sell the combined land-holding.

Director Justin Hazell said while buyers had the option of taking over the plans developed for the site by Landmark, they could also create their own new vision.

“The immediacy of the development opportunity is reinforced by the heads of agreement for development of a 115 place childcare centre on Lot 7 and the current development approval providing for Lot 100 to be developed into 56 townhouse allotments,” he said.

“Alternative schemes provide the opportunity for Lot 7 to be developed for mixed-use incorporating childcare, commercial and residential land uses, and vertical development for residential, retirement or aged care on Lot 100, with the zoning supportive of higher density development.

“We are anticipating interest from childcare and residential developers, retirement living, supported accommodation and aged care developers, commercial and mixed-use developers and owner-occupiers, multi-faceted project developers and land bankers.”

As part of a master-plan drawn up by Landmark for the former TAFE site, construction of an X-Convenience petrol station, SipnSave, car wash and PETstock outlet is currently under way just north of the new Panorama Hotel on Goodwood Rd, while the residential component had been earmarked for the eastern half of the site.
