At 25, Leah Itsines has created her own unique voice to stand out in the supercrowded, lucrative online world of helping women transform their physical appearance.
Itsines’ has created BARE, an innovative online guide for women looking to become leaner, fitter, stronger and more confident.
More than 44,000 women have now signed up to Itsines’ BARE and related programs, described as digital guide to fitness using healthy recipes and workouts.
“It is so important now, more than ever, to focus on maintaining your physical, mental and emotional health as this is one thing that we can control and is going to keep us strong moving forward,” she said.
Ms Itsines, the younger sister of Aussie rich-lister and globally followed fitness queen Kayla Itsines, is one of the finalists in this year’s Women in Innovation SA (Winnovation) awards, representing other female leaders who have a vision to change the world.
She will compete with social media dance platform Feel the Beatz founder Janhvi Sirohi and Kira Bain, creator of a series of custodian-endorsed teacher resource packs to support Kaurna language in schools.
Other names in the list include Tanya Wieler whose Aboriginal Pathway Program is looking to boost university participation of regional and remote students, Duke of Brunswick publican Simone Douglas for revitalising her venue and Marion Vigot, who is working with SA farmers to produce Australian rye straws to save the oceans from plastic waste,
Finalists will vie for 11 award categories across science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
The awards elevate and celebrate the role of female innovators across all industries, research institutes and government, Winnovation president Nicole Swaine said.
