Halifax Street flooded as another city main bursts
A burst water main in Adelaide’s CBD has left three business flooded, just a day after another broken pipe caused mayhem in the city.

Halifax St was forced to close on Monday night after a water main under an apartment building burst.
Some traffic management remains in place for eastbound lanes Tuesday morning between King William and Pulteney Streets, for final street cleaning.
The ruptured pipe flooded the foyer and lift of an apartment building and the ground floor of three further businesses.
SA Water crews were called about 1.20pm with a field technician “arriving on site within 15 minutes to begin turning off water supply”, according to an SA Water spokesman.
Crews then stayed into the night repairing the pipe.
Emergency services were also called to help unblock a drain to help water subside.
It was the second flood to occur in two days in Adelaide’s CBD.
A water main on Grenfell St burst, flooding the street and affecting nine businesses.
“Thirty-seven customers were without mains water, with our Community Support team providing them with an interim supply of cask water during this period,” the SA Water spokesperson said.
“Water supply was restored just before 10pm.
“As a result of the incident, water entered the inside of four properties - no significant damage has been reported and clean-up has been arranged.”
