Travel in and out of South Australia has seen a boom over Easter with the busiest weekend at Adelaide Airport since the pandemic.
About 150,000 travellers are expected to come through Adelaide Airport over the Easter long weekend, the busiest holiday period since before Covid struck in 2020.
An Adelaide Airport spokesman said Monday was forecast to be the busiest day of the weekend.
“Passenger numbers for the year have now surpassed our pre-Covid levels on the back of strong domestic and regional growth,” the spokesman said.
“Our international passenger numbers have recovered to about 90 per cent of pre-Covid levels.”
With the added traffic coming through Adelaide Airport, the spokesman said passengers should allow extra time to get to their gate, particularly if checking in luggage, and should check their airline for the latest travel advice.
On Monday, two Virgin flights were cancelled, one from Melbourne to Adelaide scheduled to land at 9.10pm and one from Adelaide to Melbourne set to depart at 9.50pm.

The busiest day next weekend is expected to be Friday, with more than 30,000 people arriving and departing from the airport.
