MEDIA personality Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello is so passionate about South Australia, he’s spent much of the past decade promoting our state to the rest of the country and the world.
His popular Channel 9 television travel series, South Aussie with Cosi, is now shown to millions of people as far away as China.
So his new role as ambassador for the iChooseSA campaign, which encourages people to support local businesses, comes naturally for the former radio presenter.
“It’s an honour for me, which I don’t take lightly. Choosing SA is super important – in fact I don’t think there is anything more important,” he said.
“Unless we’re all in this together and we’re passionate about South Australia, and we support South Australia, we’re going nowhere. This state is vibrant, it’s alive and I just feel that if everyone continues to get behind the state like we have been, the sky is the limit.
“South Australia is alive and well. It’s a great place to do business, raise a family or just relax.
“I Choose SA for a multitude of reasons, be it business – I don’t think there’s a better spot to do business in Australia – and family.
“You cannot bring up a family anywhere else in Australia like you can do here in SA.”
Costello and his family – including wife Sam, and children Harry, 16, Matilda, 8, and Charli-Rose, 7 – will spend part of the inaugural iChooseSA Day on Saturday, October 22, at one of their favourite places – the Adelaide Central Market.
“We just love it at the market. I’m sure we’ll be having brekkie with the kids at one of our favourite spots there,” Costello said. And, not surprisingly, the television host is hoping others will use the day to travel somewhere around our great state, as well.
“Choosing to travel in SA is a no brainer. We can do whatever we like on any budget,” he said.
“If you want five-star in the Hills or the Barossa no problems or, if you want to roll out a swag at a free campsite along the Murray River, there is a travel option for everybody on every budget, in some of the finest locations in the whole world.”
