Jodie van Deventer named Committee for Adelaide CEO
A SOUTH Australian economic think tank set up in 2013 has announced its first full-time chief executive.
A South Australian economic think tank set up in 2013 has announced its first fulltime chief executive.
PR veteran Jodie van Deventer will take on day to day leadership of the Committee for Adelaide from next month said chair Colin Goodall following an application process that saw her best more than 120 competitors.
“We went to the market to find an extraordinary individual to shape Adelaide’s future and we could not be happier with our choice,” Mr Goodall said.
“Jodie has had four successful careers — in the media, industry groups, the public sector and running her own company. Her experiences allows the Committee to build on our excellent work since foundation and move to the next step.”
In the past year, the Committee for Adelaide has hosted the overseas Nuclear Fuel Cycle industry participation tour, provided links between the business sector and the Investment Attraction Agency and acted as a constructive advocate for planning reform changes he said.
Matt Clemow will step down from his role as general manager but will continue to be involved with the Committee which had now achieved the sustainability to move to a fulltime CEO he said.
“The base premise is to provide a constructive, bipartisan, intellectual vehicle to prosecute and investigate ideas for South Australia’s economic growth and the timing could not be better to expand our scope.
“The Committee for Adelaide had already established itself as a trusted and respected organisation and I’m looking forward to ensuring it plays an even greater role in driving capital investment and community growth in SA,” Ms van Deventer said.
