Adelaide’s tallest vertical garden has arrived at the CBD’s newest apartment tower.

The ONE Flinders East building, designed by architects Loucas Zahos and developed by Guava Lime Property Solutions, opens for new residents this month.

The two-storey vertical gardens have extensive climbers and planter boxes and envelopes a striking curved facade.

At completion of its public plaza, ONE will have more than 940sq m of greenery with 730 plants, 21 species and seven 5 metre tall trees across 11 green open spaces, including a rooftop garden retreat.

This green space allocation is the equivalent of nearly 300 per cent of the building’s footprint area.

Loucas Zahos’ principal architect Con Zahos said ONE was “designed for a quality lifestyle in gardens, in the sky and in the city”.

“Adelaide’s new garden apartments combine architecture with nature to balance urban living with a private escape,” Mr Zahos said.

“While many apartments are bespoke, design features in all apartments include glazing that extends beyond high ceiling lines, understated finishes and foliage-framed views for an inviting atmosphere.”

First homebuyer and new city resident Finn Galindo said ONE was instantly, visibly different.

“The design features, including the layout, structure and embellishments, the planned use of so much green space in an apartment building made it more like a community than anything else I’d seen,” he said.
