Adelaide medical software company Alcidion has signed a $12 million contract with Queensland Health.
The company’s subsidiary, MKM Health, will establish a Queensland-wide referral service directory (RSD) using software partner NextGate Solutions’ Provider Registry system.
The system will be the central point of reference for external referrals from general practitioners across Queensland hospital and health services.
In a statement issued to the ASX this morning, Alcidion said the RSD solution would be supplied using a Software as a Service (SaaS) model, with a contract term expiring in mid-2024.
It’s expected to add around $12 million to the company’s revenue pool over the five-year term, with NextGate receiving a portion as the SaaS provider.
Alcidion chief executive Kate Quirke said it was the second major NextGate contract that MKM Health had entered into in Australia during the past two years, but the first since MKM became an authorised NextGate reseller earlier this year.
“This contract will allow us to establish a stronger presence in Queensland, working closely with Queensland Health,” she said.
“It also adds a sizeable increase to our total contracted forward revenue pool to be recognised over the next five years, which as of September 30, stood at $23.9 million.”
MKM partnered with NextGate last year to implement its enterprise master patient index (EMPI) solution across the Victorian public health service.
Alcidion completed its acquisition of MKM Health in July. Its shares jumped 9.3 per cent on the news, reaching 4.7c during early morning trade.
