ADM signs on as first client at new Eyre Peninsula port
Grain trader ADM is T-Ports’ first client at its new Lucky Bay port site on the Eyre Peninsula.
T-Ports has secured its first official client at its new port site on the Eyre Peninsula with grain marketer ADM posting a price for wheat from the Lucky Bay site for this upcoming season.
The company’s new facility consists of 500,000 tonnes of bunker storage at Lucky Bay and Lock, plus a shallow harbour port at Lucky Bay, which will use a transhipment vessel. The project was first flagged in March last year.
Bunker construction is now complete, with construction at the port site well underway.
T-Ports chief executive Kieran Carvill said the ongoing support from ADM and Eyre Peninsula growers had been invaluable as the company prepares for its first harvest.
“ADM have been strong supporters of T-Ports and the price represents their ongoing belief in the T-Ports philosophy and business,” he said.
“We are keenly aware of the needs of grain traders and understand their business involves high levels of risk that need to be considered and managed.
“We invite growers to support us and ADM and to continue to keep an eye out as other grain marketers join T-Ports as clients.”

The $130 million Lucky Bay project will be open for grower receivals for the 2019 harvest. It features two up-country bunker storage sites at Lock and Lucky Bay with about 500,000 tonnes of capacity, steel silos at port with about 24,000 tonnes of storage, port receival and loading facilities, a bespoke transhipment vessel with a capacity of 3500 tonnes and a fertiliser import and storage facility.
