Rossi Boots ready to take next step into export markets with help of $250,000 State Government grant

ROSSI Boots chief executive Myron Mann says the company “didn’t need” a $250,000 State Government grant, but that the cash injection would generate new jobs.

ROSSI Boots chief executive Myron Mann says the company “didn’t need” a $250,000 State Government grant, but the cash injection would increase jobs and speed up the manufacturer’s new business plan.

Rossi says it has identified a “substantial export opportunity” in North America and also plans to grow sales of its popular elastic-sided boots in China and the United Kingdom.

However, entry to the markets will require a new IT platform and website, as well as a 24/7 customer service centre in Adelaide to meet the needs of online business and wholesale customers.

The new model means Rossi Boots can continue to grow its market, creating 10 to 15 jobs in the process, and further secures its manufacturing future in SA.

Rossi Boots chief executive Myron Mann said they didn’t need the grant but it would allow them to enter new global markets faster, and expand the company’s manufacturing operations and employment of South Australians.

“Further investment in our advanced manufacturing technology and systems will allow Rossi

Boots to efficiently manufacture our world-class elastic-sided boots in Adelaide,” he said.

Acting Premier Kyam Maher Rossi Boots new model aligned with State Government’s economic priorities, and the funding was matched by Rossi.

“Our priority is to help businesses thrive, locally and on the global stage, so that they, and South Australia, can grab opportunities for growth and increase jobs,” he said.

The Metropolitan Fire Service also chosen Rossi Boots to supply the new station boot for its firefighters — an estimated investment of $150,000 over three years.
