Chocolate-inspired beers and burgers will be on offer for an expected crowd of 200 at this Friday’s FruChocs Appreciation Day party at Royal Park.
SA confectionery maker Robern Menz, the group behind apricot-centred FruChocs and the reborn Violet Crumble, has teamed up with the Big Shed Brewing Concern on two limited edition beers – the previously successful BruChocs and a new FruSour.
Big Shed co-founder Craig Basford said the 20-strong team was gearing up for a fun event.
“Reminding people to remain seated while they eat and drink will be the key focus, but we are looking forward to a rollicking Friday,” Mr Basford said.
Robern Menz chief executive Phil Sims said it was great to bring people together for a day of fun and laughter in the midst of a tough year.
“We’re currently busier than ever, working at full capacity across our 82 production staff … “Our products have sold well during COVID given a lot of people have spent this period stuck at home or isolated, so they are turning to chocolate and comfort food.
“We also think the opportunity to partner with other businesses like the team of Big Shed was important,” Mr Sims said.
The FruSour, which tastes more like a dry white wine, will be on tap at the brewery, the
BruChocs are also being sold in eight-pack and four-pack cans at select bottle shops.
For those with an experimental palate, there’s also a FruChocs burger – smoked brisket with brie and apricot aioli on a chocolate bun served with fries.
