PRICES SLASHED: Foxtel responds to new competition
Here’s our pick of the best offerings on BoxSets, which launches in November.
GAME OF THRONES, seasons 1-4
If you haven’t watched Game of Thrones, what have you been talking to your co-workers about? It’s grisly, bloody, Shakespearean and addictive. Set in fictional medieval times, the language is poetic, the fighting intense and the love stories often just a little bit wrong.
THE SOPRANOS, seasons 1-6
Many have compared the scheming and power plays of Game of Thrones to The Sopranos. The series that made James Gandolfini a star may be set in a New Jersey mafia chapter, but at its heart is the story of a family man, who happens to put people in concrete boots. Catch up with this classic series and you’ll finally be able to weigh in on the debate around the controversial final ep.
GIRLS, seasons 1-3
Lena Dunham’s groundbreaking comedy prompted lazy comparisons to Sex and the City. The only similarity is it’s about four girlfriends in New York. The difference? It’s edgy, it’s real, and it’s not about the clothes.
