Bunnik Tours has posted a staggering 700 per cent-plus average revenue growth over the past three financial years to be named South Australia’s BDO Fast Mover for 2024.

The awards, which were announced at an event on Friday afternoon, recognise the 25 fastest growing companies in the state, along with three extra awards for fastest employment growth, excellence in business, and “elevated success”.

Bunnik - a family business founded by Marion Bunnik and her son Dennis in 1995 and now run by Dennis and his brother Sacha - grew its revenue at average 706 per cent over the three most recent financial years, with average full time employment growth of 24 per cent.

Bunnik specialises in high-quality small group tours, both in Australia and overseas.

“We have always been a family of travellers at heart, exploring the world around us with equal parts wonder, good humour and curiosity,’’ the business’s website says.

“As a family business we understand that our family’s name and reputation is at stake every time we sell a holiday.

“We take your trust very seriously and look forward to the day when we can help you explore the world.’’

Point of sale technology company MyVenue came in second in the BDO Fast Movers program, with average revenue growth of 537 per cent and employment growth of 60 per cent.

That company told The Advertiser earlier this year it was looking at new markets to expand into and considering a capital raise to further drive growth, after substantial success in the US, where more than 60 venues, including Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Chicago Cubs’ Wrigley Field, the new $2.3bn MSG Sphere in Las Vegas and last year’s Super Bowl host State Farm Stadium in Arizona, use its software.

The MyVenue tech suite includes a mobile ordering app, an online portal for corporate box orders, a self-service kiosk, real-time dashboards and an inventory control system.

MyVenue was founded by chief executive Tim Stollznow, an engineer who previously sold point-of-sale systems in pubs and clubs in Australia.

MyVenue employs about 50 staff, predominantly at its Lot Fourteen base on North Tce, and is backed by family, friends and high net worth investors out of Adelaide.

Digital transformation consultancy Bailey Abbott notched up third place in the Fast Movers list, with average revenue growth of 300 per cent over three years and employment growth of 90 per cent.

Founded just four years ago, the firm now has more than 70 staff, “who specialise in business improvement and digital transformation for government, defence and top-tier enterprise businesses across all industries’’.

BDO’S FAST MOVERS FOR 2024

Founder and chief executive Tom Carlton launched the business amid the turmoil of the early days of the pandemic, and it has grown strongly ever since.

Each of the top 10 businesses in the BDO Fast Movers list for 2024 achieved average revenue growth of 100 per cent or more over the past three years, while REQ Refrigeration and Air Conditioning took out the top place for employment growth with 235 per cent.

Enable Fitness Centre took out the Excellence in Business award while ttsBuilt was awarded the Elevated Success award for businesses with turnover of more than $5m a year, delivering average growth of 58 per cent.

Rudy Pieck, managing partner BDO South Australia, congratulated the award winners.

“In our 19th year of delivering the Fast Movers SA program, the calibre and achievements of all our nominees continues to amaze,’’ Mr Pieck said.

“We’re enormously proud to recognise their success and support the further growth of South Australian businesses.

“We warmly congratulate the 2024 Top 25 and award winners and look forward to doing it all again next year.”

Prizes for first place include a fully paid place in the Australian Centre for Business Growth’s award-winning programs, valued at up to $43,250 a $10,000 Market Ease Digital bespoke digital strategy plan, followed by a 2 month enrolment in the Digital Leverage Program, a$7500 brand strategy consultation and report thanks to Floodlight Content and $6000 cash thanks to BDO.
