Firefighters rescue unconscious man from burning Balmain unit
A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after firefighters were called to a burning unit early Wednesday morning.

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after firefighters rescued his unconscious body from a burning apartment unit.
Firefighters were called to the unit in Sydney’s inner west just after 3.30am on Thursday morning.
A statement from NSW Police said: “Initial inquiries suggest the fire is suspicious, however investigations into the cause continue”.
Fire and Rescue NSW said the man, understood to be in his 20s, was removed from the burning unit on Nicholson St in Balmain, in Sydney’s Inner West.

After initial emergency care from firefighters, he was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital alongside a specialist medical team.
NCA NewsWire understands he was in a serious condition at the time and suffering from burn injuries.
“Firefighters provided initial emergency care until the arrival of NSW Ambulance who have transported the rescued male,” it said.
The fire has been extinguished and police investigations are continuing.
